Congressman Rangel has had a car parked in the garage of the US House building for several years. Parking rules violations
In September of 2008, the New York Post reported that Congressman Rangel owned a silver 1972 Mercedes Benz, which had been parked in the same spot in the House parking lot for several years. The car had a tarp over it, and the Post claims that Congressional aides say that the car had been parked in the same spot for years.
The car has no license plates and no registration. Records show that the registration expired in October 2004 and that the plates were surrendered at that time.
