SUMMARY AS OF:
11/7/1997--Introduced. Amends the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to revise requirements for issuance of citations to employers for violations of certain standards, rules, orders, or regulations. Allows an employer to provide methods of protection alternative to federally required methods if they are equally or more protective of the safety and health of the employees in the factual circumstances at issue than those required by such standard, rule, order, or regulation. Requires issuance of a citation for a violation if the employer has not complied with Federal rules and standards or has not provided such an alternative method of protection.
