Primary Election
Senator Cantwell is facing only one opponent in the primary race. While Mr Wilson has put forward position statements and is actively running for office, the likelihood of beating the incumbent Senator Cantwell isn't likely.
On the Republican side, State Senator and former State Department official Michael Baumgartner is facing medical doctor Art Coday. Dr Coday has put forth a number of statements expressing his position on a several issues ranging from foreign policy to civil liberty. State Senator Baumgartner has put forward fewer statements and been less expresive in those statements than Dr Coday. However, the name recognition State Senator Baumgartner enjoys in the state may give him enough power to win the election.
