Throughout the campaign to change health care reform, we heard the President decry the evil insurance companies.  He talked about how they held customers hostage, dropped them at a moments notice, and withheld care when needed.  He then went on to say that it was not his intent to vilify insurance companies.  This was one reason that health reform failed.  In the end, the President spent months vilifying a product which he then proposed that every American be required by law to purchase.
