Internet Freedom and Security
Internet Kill Switch
was legislation put forth to provide an "internet kill switch" that would allow entities to put in place electronic architecture to remove critical infrastructure from the internet should there be a cyber attack. Critics caution that such architecture could be used to shut down the internet to the population as was done in Egypt during the revolution there. Do you support or oppose this type of legislation and is there a need for it given the threat of a cyber attack?
SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA
SOPA and PIPA
were pieces of legislation that would allow the government to shut down sites that it thought were violating copyright laws. President Obama has signed the ACTA treaty which enforced the same regulation with other countries. Would you vote for or against these pieces of legislation?
