Mike Lee on Education

Mike Lee takes a constitutional approach to education in that he advocates that education is a power that should be relegated to the states. He states that education decisions are best made by local and state level officials. He is strongly opposed to No Child Left Behind as a power grab from the states rights to oversee education.


Shrinking the government

When speaking about shrinking the size of government, Mike Lee mentioned the Department of Education as one area that may be cut. This is covered under the taxes subject.


Opposition to NCLB

In an April 2010 article, Mike Lee was quoted as saying that NCLB openly flouted the idea of state sovereignty.
