Craig James on Social Security
Campaign Website Statements
Do you think Congress should overhaul Social Security? If so, what changes would you seek? If not, why wouldn’t you overhaul these programs?
Congress should make common-sense reforms to unequivocally safeguard Social Security. Above all, we must strengthen Social Security’s long-term finances. No changes should be made to individuals currently age 55 and older, but adjusting and addressing issues such as moving back retirement age for younger workers, means testing benefits and dedicating Social Security payroll taxes to Social Security would initiate meaningful improvements to save the program.
