Congressman Doggett addresses U.S. strategy in Afghanistan

On March 10 of this year I spoke on the House floor against military escalation in Afghanistan. Our security will not be found in the false choice of “more troops in” or “all out now,” and I continue to challenge the notion of wider war as the path to peace. Over 1,000 of our brave service members have now lost their lives in this conflict, and as in Iraq, we are on course for a trillion-dollar war waged on borrowed money. A pragmatic exit strategy is needed to save American lives and America’s future.
