Ending the War in Iraq and Fighting Terrorism in Afghanistan

More than 4,000 American service members have lost their lives in Iraq, and more than 31,000 have been injured. It is time for the Iraqis to take care of Iraq. Paul believes that America has fulfilled its commitment to help the Iraqi people form a new government and that we should begin the process of removing our troops from Iraq. He has supported legislation to require the redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq and supports the President Obama’s plan to remove troops this year.

Paul also believes that we should work towards bringing American service members home from Afghanistan. Last year, President Obama announced his plan to begin drawing down troops from Afghanistan in July 2011. Paul supports requiring the President to present a plan to Congress by April 4, 2011 on the safe, orderly, and expeditious redeployment of U.S. troops from Afghanistan
