Official Website Statements

During these tough economic times, John understands that illegal immigration hurts middle class families.
John opposes any legislative measure that provides blanket amnesty to illegal immigrants. He believes that we need to fix our visa and immigration system to make it work better for everyone - employers, temporary workers and working families.

John also believes that we must punish employers that knowingly employ illegal immigrants. He is a strong supporter of increased employer fines for those who break the law. He supports expanding E-Verify to allow businesses to have a reliable way to check the immigration status of a recently hired employee.

John also supports increased border security along the Southern border to prevent human and drug smuggling. He does not support drivers' licences or in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.
