Bob Ehrlich believes deeply in the social and economic benefits afforded by legal immigration. Sadly, though, the federal government has failed for decades to enact a comprehensive solution to the growing problem of illegal immigration. In the absence of a federal solution, Bob Ehrlich fully supports the rights of individual states to defend themselves from illegal immigration, particularly when public safety is at risk.

As Governor, Bob will pursue three goals to protect citizenship in Maryland. First, he will fight to close loopholes created by the O’Malley Administration that allow certain illegal immigrants to legally possess a Maryland driver’s license. Second, he will oppose giving discounted, in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants at the expense of Maryland students. Finally, he will toughen state budgeting measures to ensure that no organization receiving public funds uses those funds to aid illegal immigration in Maryland
