In response to Enron and other accounting scandals, Congress passed a bill which imposed a number of book-keeping and accounting regulations on several industries. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 The bill received moderate bi-partisan support in the House and passed in a 334-90 vote. Karen Thurman voted in favor of Sarbanes-Oxley.
