Education

Both of my parents were teachers, so I strongly support public education. One of the most important roles of government is to provide a quality education.

I voted in favor of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which delivered more than $200 million to the school districts in the 8th Congressional District. The Recovery Act money is bringing stability. It is giving the school districts almost two years of breathing room to do what is necessary to save teachers’ jobs, prevent schools from closing, and improve education for our children.
