The Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act would have hastened the sale of drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coast of Virginia. Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011

The Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011 would have prevented the EPA from passing any tax on greenhouse gases and excluded GHGs from the definition of air pollutants.

American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (Cap-and-Trade)

Also known as Cap and Trade, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 sought to create a system of carbon credits which would be issued to each business, and dictated the amount of carbon each business was allowed to put into the evironment through the creation of goods or the use of energy. When a company exceed the amount of carbon allocated to it (exceeded it\'s cap), it could then trade or purchase carbon credits from businesses below their allocated level. The bill passed the house in a 219-212 vote, but was never brought up for a vote in the Senate. Jared Polis voted in favor of the Cap and Trade program.

To amend the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 to require responsible parties to pay the full cost of offshore oil spills, and for other purposes.

Session-111; Bill Number-H R 4959; Global Conservation Act of 2010 - Cosponsor

Directs the President, through the Coordinator for Global Conservation, to establish the International Conservation Strategy to help combat global natural resource and biodiversity degradation in developing countries. Directs the Coordinator to establish the Interagency Working Group on Global Conservation. Directs the President to establish the President's Advisory Committee for Global Conservation. Urges the President to work with the world's major foreign assistance donor countries to: (1) develop an international conservation assistance strategy; (2) identify multilateral coordinating mechanisms; and (3) promote existing multilateral initiatives designed to identify meaningful levels of interim funding for forest conservation in developing countries.
