Harry Mitchell on Israel

Campaign Website Statements

It is critical for the United States to stand with Israel as it protects itself from Iran, and other threats in the region, both conventional and nuclear. I believe we must continue to support Israel's right to defend itself. I’ve twice visited Israel and witnessed first-hand the damage caused by recent rocket attacks from Gaza. We would never sit back and allow Hamas or Hezbollah to launch rockets into the United States. I do not know how we could expect Israel to hold itself to a different standard.

Israel is one of the United States’ greatest allies and has been one of our strongest partners in fighting international terrorism. Israel’s location in the Middle East is critically important and our relationship is as vital as ever. I remain committed to strengthening it. I believe that a threat to Israel is a threat to the United States, and I remain vigilant about ensuring our mutual safety and security.
