Pennsylvania is fortunate to be home to some of the best healthcare providers, hospitals and research institutions in the world. But with employers and employees struggling with the skyrocketing costs of health care coverage, we all must work together to balance cost, quality and accessibility within the health care system. Tom Corbett believes that we must start with medical malpractice reform and work to strengthen the existing private market system with policies that will drive down costs and make healthcare insurance affordable to Pennsylvanians. He also believes that we must closely monitor the healthcare debate in Washington and the potential impact it could have on Pennsylvania. That’s why Tom Corbett joined with other Attorneys General from around the country to block an unconstitutional provision in the bill that would have exempted only Nebraska from shouldering the increased Medicaid costs the bill would generate.
