Kudlow Report Appearance

On October 20, 2009 Governor Pawlenty appeared on the Kudlow Report and spoke about his opposition to the health care reform plan and the public option.

 

Reaction to Op-Out Proposal

In October of 2009, Governor Pawlenty appeared on Fox News in response to a proposal that states be allowed to opt-out of the public option and a trigger to enact the public option.

 

Five Ways to Reform Health Care

On February 14, 2010 Governor Pawlenty wrote an article that appeared in the Washington Post website and indicated five things that he believed could be done to reform health care.

 

Esquire Interview

In February of 2010, Governor Pawlenty was interviewed by Esquire magazine and asked if he would have supported Medicare part D and he states that he would indeed have supported a version of it.

 

Greta Appearance

On February 15, 2010 Governor Pawlenty appeared on the Greta Van Susteran show and spoke about his op-ed and the need to a national "do-over" on health care.

 

Letter to Congressmen

In March of 2010, Governor Pawlenty wrote a letter as Governor of Minnesota to the Congressional representatives of the state of Minnesota urging them to vote against the 2009-2010 health care reform legislation. He urged for the purchase of health care across state lines, malpractice reform, prohibiting denial of insurance for pre-existing conditions, and guaranteeing portability.

In May of 2010, Governor Pawlenty was interviewed by Meet the Press Across America and discussed his opposition to the Obamacare health care reform and alternatives.

 

Lawsuit Over Obamacare

In April of 2010, Governor Pawlenty released a statement noting that he would file or join a lawsuit against Obamacare.

 

Restriction of Funding for Obamacare

In September of 2010, Governor Pawlenty released a statement noting that he would not allow funding to be used to implement the health care reform known as "Obamacare."

 

Repealing Obamacare State by State

In November of 2010, Governor Pawlenty released a statement noting his belief that Obamacare missed opportunities to make real changes to health care.

 

Reaction to Ruling on Obamacare

On January 1, 2011 Governor Pawlenty released a statement noting his support for a federal ruling that held that "Obamacare" was unconstitutional.

 

InsideVandy Interview

On March 22, 2011 Governor Pawlenty was interviewed by the Vanderbuilt University Newspaper InsideVandy and stated that he believed that Obamacare should be repealed or changed.

 

South Carolina Debate

In May of 2011, Governor Pawlenty participated in the South Carolina Presidential Debate. He was asked about President Obama's plan and Governor Romney's plan. He notes that President Obama broke numerous promises that he made during the 2008 campaign.

 

One Year Anniversary

In March of 2011, Governor Pawlenty issued a press statement noting his views on the health care reform package at the one year anniversary of the program. He called the health care reform package one of the most flawed and misguided laws in modern history.
