In January of 2011, Governor Pawlenty was interviewed by Christianity Today. When asked about cap-and-trade schemes, Governor Pawlenty stated that he had looked at the systems when Governor and determined that he would not implement them to address pollution.
Laura Ingraham Show
In March of 2011, Governor Pawlenty appeared on the Laura Ingraham show. He was asked about his previous support for cap-and-trade and a commerical made with Governor Napolitano stating bipartisan support for limiting greenhouse emissions. (Comments start at 6:20)
Governor Pawlenty states that he made a mistake in supporting greenhouse gas limitations. He states that everyone running for the Presidency is going to have some clunkers in their closet. He says that everyone in the race has embraced cap-and-trade at some point.
Drill, Baby, Drill
In April of 2011, Governor Pawlenty issued a press statement reproducing an article in which he states his support for drilling in ANWR and increased drilling overall.
South Carolina Debate
In May of 2011, Governor Pawlenty participated in the South Carolina Presidential Debate. He was asked about his previous support for a cap-and-trade system. He states that he supported a study of cap-and-trade, and that it was a mistake.
Calling Out Ethanol
In May of 2011, Governor Pawlenty issued a press statement noting his views that the ethanol subsidies should be ended.
Miami Herald Interview
In August of 2011, Governor Pawlenty was interviewed by the Miami Herald and asked about his views on global warming.
Q: Do you think there’s man-made climate change?
Pawlenty: “Well, there’s definitely climate change. The more interesting question is how much is a result of natural causes and how much, if any, is attributable to human behavior. And that’s what the scientific dispute is about.”
