Title : Providing for consideration of the joint resolution (H.J. Res. 165) making further continuing appropriations for the fiscal year 1996, and for other purposes, and waiving a requirement of clause 4(b) of rule XI with respect to consideration of certain resolutions reported from the Committee on Rules.

 

SUMMARY AS OF:
3/20/1996--Introduced. Sets forth the closed rule for the consideration of H.J. Res. 165 (continuing appropriations). Waives provisions of rule XI of the Rules of the House of Representatives that require a two-thirds vote to consider a report from the Committee on Rules on the same day it is presented to the House with respect to resolutions reported by such Committee before April 1, 1996, to provide for the consideration or disposition of any of the following measures, including any amendment, conference report, or any amendment from conference in disagreement thereon: (1) a bill making general appropriations for FY 1996; or (2) a bill or joint resolution making further continuing appropriations for such fiscal year or increasing or waiving (for a temporary period or otherwise) the public debt limit.
